Overview

Hydrocarbon storage tanks require periodic interior cleaning to maintain integrity, enable inspection, and prepare for hot work. IMS performs full-cycle storage tank cleaning on both fixed-roof and floating-roof tanks across the Aegean and wider Mediterranean.

Every job is one continuous operation: safe gas-freeing, mobile three-phase centrifugation of bottom sludge, manual or non-man entry under confined-space permit, hydro-blasting of shell and floor, and final certification by an independent gas-free chemist. Every cubic metre removed is logged with a sealed waste manifest.

Bottom sludge is the most regulated waste stream and the most expensive to dispose of, so we treat it in place. Mobile skids separate the sludge into recovered hydrocarbon, water, and dewatered solid cake, with volume reductions of 30 to 40% on aged crude residues. Crews are trained for entry into hostile atmospheres and certified for hot/cold work in active refinery environments.
